![]() ![]() When I was tight on money I had limited success by taking a torch to a plug and burning the fuel and oil out of it but 80% of the time it did not work or only worked for a short time. Thanks in advance for all your help, looking forward to becoming apart of the community. its a really fun little bike, i really want to get it up and running. I was going to strip it down and put it back together and hope i fixed the problem that way but i figured some guidance would ease the pain also, if i do do that i will be repainting teh fram and a few worn bits, so might do a small rebuild thread or somthing. The scoot is abit rough around the edges but had a rebuild about 200km before i got it (65 malossi kit) and i put about 800 on it, wasnt to rough and allway let it warm up before i set off. Im abit hesitant to jump in and was hoping for some advice. I am reasonably mechanicaly adept, growing up on a farm and having a mechanic for a brother, i have owned bikes in the past, but not much with twostrokes (read chainsaws) but havnt done much since i moved to the city, and have forgotten more then i remember now (only 20 as well. let it rest, come back and its close again, but then it gets more and more distant. So i got it home, messed around abit, battery had been flat since i got it (well could make the horn mumble abit) so i figured it doesn't need the battery to run (so long as you can kick it so some time when i had some spare time (about a week or so) i drained the fuel/cleaned the carby and tried again, it splutered alittle longer then before but still no dice, then the more i kick, the less and less the result becomes. i can tell you a 40 minute walk turns into a hour and a half when your pushing a bike (only 75kgs luckily), crossing the busy roads was fun too. Ībout a month or so back we had a monsoon while i was at work (well lots of rain anyways) and my poor magic was out in it, not that i was that worried, what could abit of rain do? (im a farm boy originally, everything gets rained on back home ) so anyways, I finish work come out to start my bike, it sputters but doesnt kick over. ![]() I have to say, the cvt trans took abit of getting used to, as did the rear brake on the handlebars but pretty soon i was scraping pegs in the local malls car park. ![]() so i picked up a 2002 model Suzuki Street Magic just before i started working over here (4 months ago or so) after seeing one in the city center one day (having never seen anything like it in my life). Looking forward to giving it a shot some time soon.Īnyways on to the tale, I'm and Aussy who has recently moved to Kiwiland (New Zealand) and when i found out about the moped laws here i just couldn't resist, especialy since i have a reasonably short commute to work(now 40 mins walk ). Have to say this is a great forum and I really enjoy seeing what people do and where they go on all sorts of bikes. Long time lurker but first time poster here. ![]()
